Hip Hop artist and actor Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson along with actor Forest Whitaker, both, have been tapped to star in the upcoming re-make of the movie Jekyll and Hyde. The re-make will be a contemporary version of ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson’s and will be directed by Abel Ferrera. So whose version will be better? That’s a good question to think about. Meanwhile, Whitaker and 50 Cent will be playing the lead roles in their modern re-make of the infamous “Jekyll and Hyde” which will be produced by Glasshouse Pictures and Independent, with production to start late this Summer.
It’s funny to say that Keanu Reeves will reportedly also be starring in a version of Jekyll and Hyde currently titled “Jekyll” which will not be directed by Abel Ferrera but possibly Nicolas Winding Refn who is stated to be in negotiations. Director Guillermo del Toro who’s known for this gothic and horror flicks is also developing a version for Keanu Reeves which reportedly will likely be out in a few years.

He said he’s insisted that any treatment must fit around the concerts, and the show will go on." The latest is that the ‘Heal the World’ singer has been making regular visits to a dermatologist in Beverly Hills, and last month he showed up at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and reports say that it has a specialist lab to test for skin cancer. Well, it will be interesting to note how fast Jackson recovers and gets back to entertaining people.

Prosecutors accuse Max, real name Charly Wingate, with plotting a botched robbery that left one man dead in September 2006.
According to Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Martin Delaney, Max B conspired with his ex-girlfriend (Gina Conway) and a stepbrother (Kelvin Leerdam) to rob two men (Allan Plowden and David Taylor) at a Holiday Inn on Route 4.
The men were allegedly targeted because they carried around large sums of cash, and drove high-end luxury cars.
The night of the homicide, authorities claim Max B, Conway, and Leerdam ambushed Allen Plowden in his hotel room, duct taping him and a female companion.
When interrogated about the location of his money, Plowden is reported to have stated his partner David Taylor, staying two floors down, had the funds.
After forcing Plowden to make a call, Taylor was lured to the room and killed instantly via a point blank shot to the face.
The prosecution’s case rests largely on the testimony of Gina Conway, who has agreed to testify against her alleged co-conspirators.
In exchange for her testimony, she will avoid a life sentence and serve 18 years on armed robbery and manslaughter charges.
Attorneys for Max B and Kelvin Leerdam will counter that Gina Conway is an unreliable witness and the sole originator of the robbery plot.
At press time, Gina Conway is expected to take the stand next week

After a widely-reported prison sentence, Yonkers Rap veteran DMX is a free man. According to AllHipHop.com, late yesterday, the one-time Def Jam Records star was released from Arizona's Maricopa County Jail.
The 90 day sentence was extended from late last year, after the rapper had some highly-publicized disputes with guards, including a February incident involving a lunch tray. The rapper was also recently ordered to pay over a quarter of a million dollars for a 2004 road rage/police impersonating civil suit
Having last released 2006's Year Of The Dog...Again on Columbia Records, the same imprint that first signed the rapper in 1991, DMX has stated previously that he intends to release a double album entitled Walk With Me Now and Fly With Me Later. Last year the McFly Hyperdunk cash in at Hype-R-Us superstore. Today it looks as if Nike is headed back to the future, to do it again with a couple of new makeups of the Nike Hypermax.
The Nike Hypermax McFly and Nike Hypermax Tennis Ball colorways recently surfaced on the web. No info on a release date of any kind, but if these release you can bet they will be limited.
An interesting approach with these two makeups is the lack of Flywire, which is an integral part of the Hypermax silhouette. The Swoosh has also been stitched on, also unique to these two colorways. Gearing up for the release of Crime Pays, Cam'ron is stepping back into the game with more than just music.
The Harlem rapper is planning on releasing two new movies this year as well as a pseudo-reality tv show and another as yet to be titled album.
Cam, who's no stranger to acting, has had starring roles in the arguably hood classics, Paper Soldiers, Paid In Full, State Property 2, and Killa Season.
He'll be making his return to acting in "The Bakery," which follows the story line of the music video "I Used To Get It In Ohio."
“I got a movie coming out in the second week in July called The Bakery, and we’re gonna re-release the album with that, it’ll have a few new songs on it,” he told XXLMag.
Cam will also be working on Killa Season 2.
“Killa Season [2] the movie comes out in October, then I’m gonna put out another album in December.”
Crime Pays, Cam’s first studio album in three years, hits shelves and online outlets this Tuesday (May 12).
West Coast rapper The Game, who claimed he was heading into retirement after his last LP, is now back in the studio working on his fourth album.
Game says the album will be titled "The R.E.D. Album" but didn't give much detail into exactly what those letters stand for.
In a recent interview after his last tour stop, Game stated that although he has been working on the album--he doesn't have a particular concept for it.
"I don't really have a concept yet," The Game says.
"I did a couple records in New York that I really like a lot but not till I get back to Cali is when I'm really going to go in."

Clyde has taken his idea of building a hip-hop museum to the place where it all started and has gained the support from many major players in the game, as well as several New York politicians.

DJ Cool Clyde: Talks have taking place for many years. Over 10 years.
Who is providing funding for the construction of the museum?
DJ Cool Clyde: Politicians are working to raise money. They understand the politics of connecting the Street with Corporate America. Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion was in control of the $1.5 million allocated for the Hip-Hop Museum.. Since he was appointed by the Obama Administration for the position of Director of the new White House Office on Urban Policy, Ruben Diaz Jr. will take on his responsibilities once elected as borough president. We need people who understand how money works.
When will the Hip-Hop Museum be opened?
DJ Cool Clyde: Pending date due to the economy, but it is in the works. It is inevitable that it is going to happen and the museum space will be 200 to 250 thousand square feet.

DJ Cool Clyde: It's slated to open in the 161 St/Yankee Stadium area. No disrespect to anyone, but the Bronx is the birthplace of hip-hop. It started in the Bronx.

DJ Cool Clyde: Resurrect people who have paved the way. The Hip-Hop Museum will be an institution where people come and get a history lesson. A lot of parents feel hip-hop has changed since they were kids. Hip-hop has a black eye! It has gotten away from the fun and went from Kings and Queens to hoes and bitches. (Not sure if it is okay to use the word bitch)
What can the public learn about you through the museum?
DJ Cool Clyde: DJ Lightning Lance and DJ Cool Clyde were the first to record scratching live on wax. The record we made in '80' and released in '81' was called "Live Album Convention 81". We were scared to listen to ourselves on the radio.
Do you have that album to donate to the museum?
DJ Cool Clyde: Of course! I have the test pressing, original record, and the reprint. All of which I intend to donate to the museum and it's not authentic if it's not in the Bronx.
What do you tell artists to donate?
I tell artists I worked with to donate what they have to this museum. Lil Mama is supportive, so is Ice-T, and Snoop Dog will donate whatever. Many artists want to support this.

In a recent interview with Canadian television network Much Music, Ross takes more jabs at the G-Unit/Shady camp.
According to MuchMusic.com, Ross revealed that despite his recent challenge to Eminem, he remains a fan of Shady Records’ flagship artist.
However, he isn’t very impressed with Em’s latest releases.
“I’m just not impressed with the music I’m hearing,” the Miami rapper stated. “But hopefully, Imma buy his album when it come out, if it don’t disappoint me too bad. You know, we’ll see.”
The comment comes just weeks after Ross told MTV News that he would be interested in being involved with Eminem’s highly anticipated fifth major label release, Relapse, due out May 19.
While Ross did not necessarily indicate a desire to continue a rivalry with Eminem, he did continue his war of words with 50’s G-Unit camp in the new interview, which is set to air on an upcoming episode of MuchNewsWeekly.
“I done put out a number one album, and you know, I finished those guys. G-Unit was dropped from Interscope,” he added, clapping. “They still can’t dress, they’re monkeys, but that’ll never change.”
While the beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross may not go down in Hip-Hop history for the actual rhymes exchanged, it does stand out as one of the most entertaining, employing tactics including animated videos, X-Rated videos and outings with the mother of one of Ross’ children.
Asked if he felt 50 Cent had taken things too far, the portly Slip-N-Slide recruit explained that as long as the beef did not escalate to gun violence, one could not say it had “gone too far.”

Joseph "JoJo" Simmons Jr. allegedly bought weed and was seen rolling the illegal substance in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, according to gossip news site tmz.com.
Sources within the police department told the site that the 19-year-old was inside a car when he was apprehended.
The sources also charge that he tried to escape by reversing and almost struck a police vehicle.
Simmons Jr. was charged with resisting arrest, attempted reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in addition to the possession charge.
No statement has been issued by the Simmons family or a representative.

Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle Records, rapper Soopafly and other unnamed parties will pay Richard Monroe Jr. nearly $449,000 in damages, a jury found on Friday (May 8) after determining that Monroe suffered major injuries from the assault.
Soopafly (born Priest Brooks) was among those involved in the incident "We're very pleased that the jury found that this incident was not something to be taken lightly," Monroe's attorney, Brian E. Watkins, said. Friday’s decision marks the end of two weeks of testimony surrounding Monroe’s 2006 lawsuit against Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Broadus).
Although Monroe’s attorneys claimed the rapper hit their client with a microphone during the ordeal, a video shown during the trial disputed the argument.
The clip, which showed Snoop Dogg performing his hit song “Gin and Juice,” did not show rapper hitting Monroe.
Monroe is tackled by security in the video after putting his arm around Snoop Dogg.
Monroe revealed during the trial that he thought he had been invited onstage during the show, which took place at the White River Amphitheater near Seattle.
According to reports, Monroe later woke up after the assault, dazed, in a pool of blood and with his pants ripped off.
He told investigators that the men who beat him also poured their drinks, which appeared to be a mix of gin and juice, on him during the beating. Jurors were shown pictures of Monroe’s swollen face following the concert.
Snoop Doggs' attorneys countered Monroe's version of the incident by arguing that his recollection of events changed over time and.
In addition, the lawyers told jurors that Monroe did not immediately reveal to investigators after the ordeal that Snoop Dogg hit him with his microphone.
That rap star testified earlier in the civil trial that he did not assault Monroe as he described and identified performers and security personnel who were seen struggling with Monroe on the video.
Snoop Dogg further stated that he quickly left the stage to go to his tour bus before the incident was over.
Snoop Dogg was not in court on Friday when the verdict was handed down.
The jury’s decision to award the nearly $449,000 payment to Monroe fell short of the $ 22 million he had sought from the entertainer.
As if a new town, new teammates and a new lifestyle weren't hard enough, Washington Redskins first-round draft pick Brian Orakpo might have one more obstacle in the transition to the NFL: a new position.
Orakpo, selected by the Redskins last week as a highly touted defensive end, spent his first minicamp Friday and Saturday drilling with Washington's linebacker corps.
And while Orakpo -- who slipped to the 13th overall selection after some projected him in the top five -- still expects to be a lineman first, how well he adapts to linebacker might affect how much he plays as a rookie.It's all just up in the air, just seeing what can I do, and how can I stay on the field at all times," said Orakpo, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound speed end who played on both sides of the defensive line at Texas. "But they brought me here to rush the passer, and I'm not getting away from that at all. Don't even think that."
A self-described athletic "freak" with a 550-pound bench press and a 4.7-second 40-yard dash, Orakpo certainly offers flexibility to a group that finished last season with 24 team sacks, just 28th-best in the NFL. And with the addition of All-Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who signed a seven-year, $100-million contract early in free agency, Orakpo senses the Redskins' scheme could suit him well.
"Now I can really get on the edge and not worry about the quarterback stepping in the pocket," said Orakpo, who led Texas with 11.5 sacks during his senior season. "Because you've got big Albert clogging up the middle, pushing the pocket, making the quarterback escape to where the ends are coming and leave us roaming free. It's really a lot easier for us."
Orakpo also could free up other ends such as Andre Carter, who had four sacks and 37 tackles last season, or veterans Phillip Daniels and Renaldo Wynn, who likely will play more on run downs.
That's the plan -- though it's hard to tell what will happen because they haven't played much with Orakpo "I saw him pass rush," said Haynesworth, who otherwise said he hadn't watched Orakpo much. "On one, he turned the corner real well and slapped a guy's hands. He's got that part down. With a rookie, you've got so many things thrown at you that it's really different, and you can't really focus on the game of football."
Added Carter: "We see a little bit of him on film. He's coming along. It's the transition of him going from being a defensive end to a linebacker. He also comes down and puts his hand in the dirt in nickel and dime packages. But he's all over the place."
